The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education, founded by the late Mr. G. D. Birla in 1964. Pilani Campus is located in the Vidya Vihar campus adjacent to Pilani town in Jhunjhunu District, Rajasthan. Pilani is the hometown of the Birla family and has a population of about 50,000. It is about 200 km west of Delhi and about 220 km north of Jaipur. BITS offered an opportunity to build a leading technological university in India responsive to India's goals, to produce practicing engineers who will be in a position to graduate and to build industries in India, under Indian conditions.
The fort of Mandawa was founded in the 18th century. Built as per a medieval theme, the castle of Mandawa is adorned with beautiful frescoes. Rooms in the palace are decorated with paintings of Lord Krishna, exquisite carvings and amazing mirror work. The palace's Durbar Hall houses a number of antiques and paintings.
Statue of Jujhar Singh Nehra:
Jujhar Singh Nehra (1664–1730) or Jhunjha was a Jat chieftain of Rajasthan in India who gave the name to theJhunjhunu town situated in Rajasthan. He was born in a Hindu Jat family of Nehra gotra.
The fort at Khetri was built in 1754 by the then Shekhawat Rajput raja, Bhopal Singh (Raja Shri Bhopal Singh Shekhawat Ji Saheb Bahadur). It was named "Bhopalgarh" in his honour. It is an easy trek of 4 km from the base of the hill. The splendid view from the fort is a breathtaking experience and also includes a marvellous but small marble temple. The spiral shaped open-cast copper mine called Chandmari is a treat to eyes, when viewed from the hilltop along the boundaries of the fort.
